Apartment reservations open at £8m Summers Quay private rent scheme

Cavendish Property Developments, New Charter Group’s commercial arm, has launched early bird reservations at Summers Quay - its first build to rent development in Stalybridge, Tameside.

Reservations, which opened on 2 January, are being taken until the end of the month on the 67 luxury 1 and 2-bed apartments and penthouses.

A one bedroom unit with a courtyard view is available for private rent from £575 per calendar month (pcm) and £595 pcm for a canal side view. Two bedroom units are priced at £675 pcm for a courtyard and £695 pcm for canal side. There are also six penthouse apartments priced at £750 pcm and £775 pcm. 53 car parking spaces are available at the development at a rate of £25 pcm alongside cycle spaces.

Apartment rental prices include a service charge.

Ground floor commercial and leisure accommodation of 245 sq m is currently being marketed by Stockport based, Impey.

Prior to reservations launch, more than 200 people have registered their interest in the 67 apartments with enquiries and sales being completed by Hyde and Stalybridge based letting and managing agents Taylor & Wood.

Summers Quay is the first, and largest, private rent development to be undertaken by housing association New Charter Group, through its commercial property arm, Cavendish Property Developments.

As an added incentive, those people who reserve an apartment during January will be offered free car parking for six months and will be entered into a prize draw for a new furniture pack for their new home.

The scheme is expected to complete in July 2018, slightly later than planned to allow for a full sprinkler system to be fitted.

“Our decision to embark on this fantastic regeneration development for Stalybridge was a challenge as our first private scheme but we’re pleased that there’s already been lots of interest in the apartments and support from the local MP Jonathon Reynolds, local councillors and the Stalybridge Town Team.

“We’re looking forward to completion and hope that Summers Quay will help to bring much-needed further investment to Stalybridge town centre.”

The scheme started on site in August 2016 and offers an alternative to urban living within a sub-urban setting.

Cavendish Property Developments was set up by New Charter Group in 2013 to carry out private rent, shared ownership, rent to buy and for sale residential development projects. Summers Quay is being delivered in partnership with Rowlinson Construction, Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council and Altrincham-based architect Pozzoni.

Summers Quay is an £8m private ‘build to rent’ regeneration development of 67 new homes in the centre of Stalybridge. It consists of 22 one bedroom (51+ sq m) and 45 two bedroom (62-72 sq m) apartments.
