How Secure is Your Home?
There have been number of 'Sneak in' burglaries during the day around tea time, where burglars have entered occupied homes through open or unlocked windows and doors.
Remember to:
- Lock doors behind you when you come in, and lock windows in occupied rooms.
- Make sure house and car keys are kept out of sight.
- Never leave items of value such as laptops and mobile phones on view, and avoid being seen carrying one - conceal then in another bag.
- Remember to make your home look and sound occupied, use timers for lights and radios.
- Don't make a gift of your property - don't leave anything on view in vehicles or at home for thieves to steal and remember not to show thieves what you have bought by leaving the empty boxes by the bin for all to see.
- Remember to shred bank statements etc.
- Protect mobile phones, electrical items, bikes etc by registering them free of charge on the national database for lost or stolen property visit www.immobilise.com
