the previous 12 months.

Please indicate your preference in the
box provided on the mandate.
Why Pay by Direct Debit?
• An easy
and convenient payment method;
• Payments are made on time;
• Helps
you to budget and organise your finances;
• Guaranteed refund
in the event of an error;
• You will not need to contact your bank
when your rent is changed;

to your Direct Debit.
To set up a Direct Debit with New Charter Housing
Trust Group you must make sure you have sufficient funds in your bank
account when your payment is due. It is sensible to check your bank
statement regularly to ensure that your Direct Debit is going out as
instructed.

it to New Charter Housing Trust – Revenues Section; or
hand it in at any of our New Charter Shops.
You will receive confirmation of the date your Direct Debit will be
set up (Until you are informed that your direct debit has been set
up you must continue to pay your rent using one of the alternative

New Charter operates a Tenants Home
Contents Insurance scheme (through Norwich Union). This is a service
that tenants can choose to take part in, and is highly valued, providing
as it does access to a service that may not be otherwise available.
The scheme reflects New Charter’s policy of extending access
to mainstream financial services, and provides the facility of weekly
payments to the rent account. We have recently responded to tenant
requests and have extended the scheme to allow tenants to take out
additional accidental insurance should they wish. An additional premium
is payable for the extra cover.
To join the scheme, a tenant must have a clear rent
account and must maintain the account on that basis.
Cover starts from £6,000 cover for people over
60 and £9,000 for people under 60. The amount of cover can be
extended to a maximum of £25,000. The cost of joining the scheme
is 19.2p per thousand per week for the basic cover or 24p for the full
accidental cover option.
For further information please contact 0161 331 2221.
