living with us
our homes
Here are
the details of the types of homes we own in particular areas, with an
indication of their demand for the nine towns in Tameside.
[further down this page]
We do not yet include information for homes owned and managed by Aksa
Housing Association which joined the Group in November 2005. Aksa offers
homes for rent in Oldham, Tameside, Bury and North Manchester.
The properties
that have 5 asterisks or star placed against them [ as in *****] have
the longest waiting lists and fewest vacancies. You are likely to have
to wait a considerable time for an offer of one of these properties.
On the other hand, those properties that have one star [ * ] against them
are more easily available. If you are looking to move quickly, then these
are the properties to select.
You may find it useful to check that we do have the type of property you want before you send us your application.
Please note that some homes carry restrictions about the type or age of household to whom we can offer them. For example, we only offer bedsitters to single people, and sheltered housing to the over 60's. For other types, we give preference to particular groups. For example, we usually give families first consideration for houses.

New Charter aims to handle letting our homes as fairly and openly as
possible.
Our booklet “Applying for a home with New Charter” includes
rules about the way we manage this.
We make decisions about your application based on the information available to us then. If you believe we have made an incorrect decision about any aspect of your application, please contact our Relets Team (331 2345), who will look into this for you.
“Suspended” applications:
If your application has been suspended, we will write to you to explain
the reasons we are not able to actively consider you for a New Charter
tenancy. In this letter, we will include full details of what you need
to do if you wish to exercise your right to a review of our decision.
